The short data map

Calculator entries
Processed in the browser; cleared with reset or the page lifecycle unless exported.
Display preference
Stored in sessionStorage for the current tab session.
Hosting requests
Handled by the hosting infrastructure and recorded in limited operational logs.
Measurement and ads
Handled by Google on eligible pages according to consent, region, and product settings.

Calculator data

Calculation, validation, print preparation and export generation happen in the browser. PayClocked does not intentionally send calculator entries or results to its servers, analytics, or advertising providers.

Entries are held in page memory and are not saved between visits by default. Resetting or leaving the page clears unsaved entries. No account is required, and the calculator does not ask for a name, employer, postal address, Social Security number, bank details, or a full tax-form upload.

A printout or downloaded export is created only after an explicit action. The visitor controls where that sensitive file is stored or shared. Exported files can contain sensitive financial information; protect them as you would a pay or tax record.

Hosting requests and logs

Data categories
IP address, user agent, requested path, timestamp, response status and technical error details.
Purpose
Page delivery, reliability, abuse prevention and incident investigation.
Retention
Access and error logs rotate daily with up to 14 retained rotations. Other security or infrastructure records may follow a different lifecycle when needed to maintain or protect the service.

Calculator values are not placed in page URLs, so they are not intended to become part of an ordinary requested-path log.

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 is used on eligible pages to understand aggregate traffic, navigation and closed feature events so the service can be maintained and improved.

Possible data
Page path, referring page, device and browser information, approximate region, consent state, and closed event categories such as a feature opening or normalized error type.
Hard boundary
Analytics events must not include calculator values, results, text entered by a visitor, or a fine-grained bucket that could reconstruct them. Session replay and keystroke recording are not used on calculator pages.

Analytics storage is used only after the applicable choice where required. Google applies its own product controls to user-level and event-level retention; standard aggregated reports can follow a different lifecycle. See the official GA4 source notes reviewed on August 27, 2026.

Google AdSense

Google AdSense supports eligible content pages. Ads can be contextual or, where the visitor has made the applicable choice, personalized.

Google and eligible advertising partners may process device, browser, network, page, consent and ad-interaction information and may use cookies or similar storage for delivery, frequency control, measurement and fraud prevention.

Calculator boundary Calculator inputs and generated results are excluded from intentional advertising payloads. Trust and legal pages do not carry advertising, and ads must not be placed inside the calculation workflow.

No unverified publisher ID, partner list, cookie name, or fixed cookie lifetime is stated here. The official AdSense cookie source explains Google's advertising storage and was reviewed on August 27, 2026.

Where a choice is required, Google Privacy & Messaging presents the applicable consent or opt-out controls before non-essential storage or personalized advertising is used.

A visitor can reopen the available privacy controls and change a choice. Withdrawal affects future optional processing; it does not undo processing already completed under an earlier valid choice.

Available controls vary with region and the services shown on a page. Declining optional use does not block the browser-based calculation. The official Privacy & Messaging source was reviewed on August 27, 2026.

Cookies and similar storage

A manual display-theme override is stored in sessionStorage for the current browser tab session. It is functional storage, is not used as an advertising profile, and is not written to localStorage or a cookie.

With no manual override, the site follows the browser or operating-system color preference. If sessionStorage is unavailable, calculation remains available.

Google and eligible advertising partners can use cookies or similar storage for consent, security, fraud prevention, ad delivery, frequency control, and measurement. Their use depends on the page, region, consent state, and configured product behavior. Browser controls can block or clear cookies, sessionStorage, and other site data.

Retention by category

  • Unsaved calculator entries: page memory until reset or page lifecycle.
  • Manual display preference: the current tab session.
  • Hosting access and error logs: daily rotation, up to 14 rotations.
  • Local exports: wherever and for as long as the visitor chooses.
  • Consent, analytics, and advertising: the applicable choice, verified product settings, legal requirements, and security needs—there is no invented universal period.

Your choices and requests

  • Reset the calculator or leave the page to clear unsaved entries.
  • Reopen available privacy controls to change future optional processing.
  • Use browser settings to clear or block cookies and site storage.
  • Depending on location, request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability for personal data the service actually holds.

Because calculator values are not attached to an account or intentionally collected, there may be no calculator record to retrieve. Use the public channel in Terms and Legal Notices for a privacy request, and do not include pay stubs, tax forms, SSNs, employer details, or calculator values.

The service is intended for people evaluating work compensation. It is not directed to children, does not create child profiles, and does not ask for age. Material changes to data categories, provider purposes, storage, or visitor choices are reflected here and, where they affect calculator behavior, in the changelog.
